ESET Security Management Center 7.2 reached End of Life

ESET PROTECT 8.0 reached End of Life and 8.1–10.0 have Limited Support

Migrate your ESET remote management infrastructure

important

Direct upgrade to ESET PROTECT 10.1 is only available for ESMC 7.2 and later versions.

step-1

Install a new MySQL database server

a)Install a supported MySQL database server.

b)Configure the new MySQL Server and ODBC connector.

c)Verify that the new database server is present in your network and make sure you have access to it on your local/remote server.

step-3

Install ESET PROTECT Server 10.1 on Linux

a)Make sure your system meets all ESET PROTECT Server installation prerequisites.

b)Download the ESET PROTECT Linux standalone components (Agent, Server, Web Console). The installation files are available on the ESET website, in the ESET PROTECT Standalone Installers section.

c)To install ESET PROTECT 10.1 Server and other components (Agent and Web Console), follow the Step-by-step ESET PROTECT Server installation on Linux section of the ESET PROTECT Install Online Help guide.

important

Apache HTTP Proxy users

Starting with ESET PROTECT 10.0, ESET Bridge replaces Apache HTTP Proxy. Apache HTTP Proxy has reached Limited Support. If you use Apache HTTP Proxy, we recommend migrating to ESET Bridge.

step-5

Upgrade ESET Management Agents on all managed computers to version 10.1

note

If you are also using the MDM component, follow the MDM upgrade steps for the MDM component upgrade procedure before you upgrade the ESET Management Agents.

Follow the Upgrade to the latest ESET Management Agents using the Components Upgrade Task in ESET PROTECT Knowledgebase article.

step-6

Upgrade the ESET Endpoints to the latest version

Follow the instructions for your customers and/or endpoints; see Endpoints managed by ESET PROTECT/ESMC/ERA.

important

We strongly recommend that you run the latest versions of supported operating systems on computers in your network.

You can use ESET PROTECT to manage computers running unsupported Windows operating systems (for example, Windows Vista or Windows XP) with ESET products in Limited Support, but some remote management limitations may occur. We do not guarantee the functionality of earlier ESET products after they reach their End of Life.
