What will happen?
On January 10, 2023, Microsoft ended support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 (including Extended Security Updates).
Due to possible changes made by Microsoft, ESET could be unable to release fixes and module updates for ESET products running on these operating system versions after the Microsoft end of support date.
Continuation of module updates
Module updates for ESET Endpoint Antivirus and ESET Endpoint Security for Windows will continue after the Microsoft Entrust certificate expires on December 8, 2023. If you encounter any issues with module updates after this date, restart the device.
We recommend you update all modules in your ESET Endpoint Antivirus and ESET Endpoint Security for Windows product and verify your Update module version is 1036 or later.

If you must continue using the affected Windows versions, the recommended compatible combination of ESET business products is to use the versions mentioned in the table above. For example, use ESET PROTECT 10.0 with ESET Endpoint Antivirus for Windows 9.1. Due to module update restrictions, the compatibility of these ESET product versions and affected operating systems is limited after December 8, 2023.
