Upgrade your unsupported operating system
What will happen?
Support for Windows Server 2008 R2* from the Microsoft side (including Extended Security Updates) ended on January 10, 2023.
Due to possible changes made by Microsoft, ESET might be unable to release fixes and module updates for ESET products for these operating system versions after the Microsoft end of support date.
* applies also to Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS) 2011 users
Degraded protection due to restricted module updates Due to the Microsoft Entrust certificate expiration on December 8, 2023, ESET will not be able to provide updates to several modules on the affected operating systems after this date. The affected modules in the ESET product will remain on the last version available before this date. Affected modules: •HIPS support module, •Anti-Stealth support module, •Network protection module, •Firewall module. |
ESET support for business products running on affected Windows operating systems
ESET server products version 9.0, specifically
•ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server,
•ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange,
•ESET Security for Microsoft SharePoint Server,
•and ESET Mail Security for IBM Domino
are the last to support the affected Windows Server versions. Upcoming releases of ESET server products (10.x and later) will not support the affected Windows Server versions. Due to module updates restrictions, the compatibility of these ESET product versions and affected operating systems is limited after December 8, 2023.
Support for the affected operating system might continue for the other ESET products, but it is not guaranteed. For more information, see the system requirements section in the help pages.
Upgrade your ESET product for Windows Server and operating system to the latest version.
We do not recommend using a version of the Windows operating system that Microsoft no longer supports. Security patches are not provided, and we cannot guarantee full protection.
