Termination of ESET Windows Home Products Version 14
Status: Completed (September 2024)
ESET has officially terminated support for version 14 of its Windows home products. This decision followed multiple forced upgrade campaigns conducted over previous years and was part of an ongoing initiative to discontinue legacy versions that had reached their End of Life (EOL) status. At the time of the shutdown, version 14 products had been in EOL status for over a year.

Impact on Users
The termination was finalized at the end of September 2024. Following this date, while the software remained installed on user devices, it ceased receiving module and detection engine updates. Consequently, users continuing to utilize version 14 were no longer protected against new threats.
Prior to the shutdown, ESET successfully migrated the majority of its user base to the latest product versions through automated upgrade campaigns. For the remaining users of version 14, ESET utilized in-app messaging campaigns to inform them of the impending service termination and the necessity of upgrading to maintain security.
