ESET Remote Administrator 6.5 reached End of Life

MSP administrators have to do these steps in order

step-1

Upgrade ESET Remote Administrator (ERA) to ESET PROTECT 8.1

Refer to the Upgrade ESET Remote Administrator (6.5) using the Web Console Knowledgebase article.

step-2

Upgrade ESET Management Agents on all managed computers to version 8.1

note

If you are also using the MDM component, follow the MDM upgrade steps for the MDM component upgrade procedure before you upgrade the ESET Management Agents.

Follow the Upgrade ERA Agents (6.5) or ESET Management Agents (7.x) using the Components Upgrade Task Knowledgebase article.

step-3

Upgrade to ESET PROTECT 10.0

Check the prerequisites first.

Select one of the options below:

Upgrade to ESET PROTECT 10.0 using the All-in-one installer - This is the recommended option if the existing server has the default installations of MS SQL database and Apache Tomcat (the existing installation was performed via the All-in-one installer).

Upgrade to ESET PROTECT 10.0 using the ESET PROTECT Components Upgrade task

For all other update scenario procedures, refer to the Upgrade, migration and reinstallation procedures section of the ESET PROTECT Install Online Help guide.

important

Apache HTTP Proxy users

Starting with ESET PROTECT 10.0, ESET Bridge replaces Apache HTTP Proxy. Apache HTTP Proxy has reached Limited Support. If you use Apache HTTP Proxy, we recommend migrating to ESET Bridge.

step-4

Upgrade ESET Management Agents on all managed computers to version 10.0

note

If you are also using the MDM component, follow the MDM upgrade steps for the MDM component upgrade procedure before you upgrade the ESET Management Agents.

Follow the Upgrade to the latest ESET Management Agents using the Components Upgrade Task in ESET PROTECT Knowledgebase article.

step-5

Upgrade the ESET Endpoints to the latest version

Follow the instructions for your customers and/or endpoints; see Endpoints managed by ESET PROTECT/ESMC/ERA.

important

We strongly recommend that you run the latest versions of supported operating systems on computers in your network.

You can use ESET PROTECT to manage computers running unsupported Windows operating systems (for example, Windows Vista or Windows XP) with ESET products in Limited Support, but some remote management limitations may occur. We do not guarantee the functionality of earlier ESET products after they reach their End of Life.
