ESET PROTECT 8.x–9.0 have Limited Support

Upgrade your ESET PROTECT Server

step-1

Before you upgrade

If you have an earlier unsupported database installed (MySQL 5.5 / MS SQL 2012 or earlier), upgrade your database to a compatible database version before installing/upgrading the ESET PROTECT Server.

step-2

Upgrade ESET PROTECT 8.x–9.x to ESET PROTECT 10.0

Follow the Manual component-based upgrade to the latest version of ESET PROTECT (Linux) Knowledgebase article. We recommend that you use the ESET PROTECT Components Upgrade.

important

Apache HTTP Proxy users

Starting with ESET PROTECT 10.0, ESET Bridge replaces Apache HTTP Proxy. Apache HTTP Proxy has reached Limited Support. If you use Apache HTTP Proxy, we recommend migrating to ESET Bridge.

step-3

Upgrade ESET Management Agents on all managed computers to version 10.0

note

If you are also using the MDM component, follow the MDM upgrade steps for the MDM component upgrade procedure before you upgrade the ESET Management Agents.

Follow the Upgrade to the latest ESET Management Agents using the Components Upgrade Task in ESET PROTECT Knowledgebase article.

step-4

Upgrade the ESET Endpoints to the latest version

Follow the instructions for your customers and/or endpoints; see Endpoints managed by ESET PROTECT/ESMC/ERA.

important

We strongly recommend that you run the latest versions of supported operating systems on computers in your network.

You can use ESET PROTECT to manage computers running unsupported Windows operating systems (for example, Windows Vista or Windows XP) with ESET products in Limited Support, but some remote management limitations may occur. We do not guarantee the functionality of earlier ESET products after they reach their End of Life.
